Here is a portrait of Jackie, the first portrait I did for the grant project. Jackie has been through so much in her life and has grown into a resilient, compassionate, powerful woman. Reflected in this portrait are elements that are symbolic of her journey as a cancer survivor and of losing her mother at a young age and being raised by her father and stepmom with help from her grandmother.
